I started my higher education with a firm conviction to become well-versedwell versed in mechatronics. Throughout the course, I recognized that I was naturally talented in computer engineering subjects. Then, before my last year of university, I took a one-year software engineering internship at Baker Hughes Company. While working in the software department, I reaffirmed my interest in software engineering since I loved developing the Python project "pen2x," an application that increases the efficiency of the company's software configuration.
My fascination with Australia began during my undergraduate studies in the UK. There, I met several Australians who told me about their country, and what they said sparked my desire to live and study in Australia after graduation. So last summer, I decided to pursue the UNSW Master of Information and Technology program because it aligned with my desire to get to know Australia while studying information and technology at one of the world's most prestigious engineering schools.
After researching the MIT specifics, I found two key features that attracted my attention. First and foremost, the core courses corresponded to my interests and prior knowledge. For example, the Principles of Programming module will utilize Python to teach the approaches to programming principles. As a Python enthusiast, I believe I will be able to digest the content readily and will enjoy strengthening my Python skills. Second, I like the program's flexibility, as it allows you to customize your education by providing a variety of complementary courses. Moreover, I am fascinated by the university's support for start-up ventures, and working in one of them would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity forin my career.
I aspire to make this world a better place by helping solve global challenges likesuch as wealth inequality through research and life-changing engineering initiatives, and I believe this master's program will help me reach my goal.
