The reason for the conflict is clearly economical and concerns Apple's policy of keeping up to 30% of any sale made through its software.
Epic Games uses Fortnite as a Trojan horse to charge players for the micro-markets they make in the game, which mostly sell jewelry objects that just change form inare then changed into characters. ForIn these markets, users are spending thebuying with a in-game currency called V-Buck which is purchased with real money. Logically, these purchases are made outside the App Store, and because the two sides didn't reach a trade deal, Apple puttook the game out of the App Store. Epic Games went to the counter-attackcounter-attacked, accusing Apple of monopolistic tactics, while in the course of the weeks sheand over time they have also foundobtained support from other companies that are skeptical about this decision.
