The covidCovid pandemic has added more stress and anxiety to my plate. Being able to deal with the stress of online school while working two jobs, andwhile also being the primary caregiver to my community here in the United States and also my family back in Kenya as a first-generation college student. My stress and anxiety levels were off the chartcharts.
Academic stress has been one of the most stressful for me since
I am trying to raise my GPA to qualify to apply to nursing school and to achieve part of my dream. To be able to reach that goal, I want throughnavigated the obstacles of losing access to services that the school offered, For; for example, being able to get help on a topic that I don’t completely understand and getting the opportunity to gethave tutoring in-person. whichThis impacted me the most, as I usually use thatthis service so that I can understand the conceptconcepts in a different way than how my professors teach. When the pandemic happenshappened, most universities were transitioning to virtual. which is not my favorite. It took me some time to adjust and beingbe able to figure out how the online zoomZoom class works. Since many schools were shut down, I was also helping my nieces and nephew with their online class. Sinceclasses, since my brother and this wife don’t speak English or help their children with any of their school work. There wereare so many problems that come with the zoomZoom class, which includesinclude having poor service, the zoomZoom app crashing due to so many people using it, and also just having a poor internet connection since everyone was taking their online classclasses through zoomZoom. As the pandemic was getting worse, my level of stress and anxiety startstarted to increase, worrying about how am II was going to get through it.
