Advancement in technology and the evolving world has made smartphones available to teenagers for their personal use. While this device provides a benefit in terms of convenience to stay aware of the latest information and read the latest books without toil and moil, I believe its overconsumption and spending time on useless mobile games and social media applications has left an inevitable behavioral change among youngsters.
Primarily, access to e-books and thousands of online-available articles right a touch away is a blessing of a smartphone for teens. Before the advent of modern-handy technology, computer labs and libraries were the source to access the internet and new books respectively, which was not only lengthy but also a hectic process to acquire knowledge. The latest smart handheld devices have made it possible to read and research anywhere-anytime. Take the example of China; the Chinese government distributed smartphones to their school graduates and university students to enable them to easily to gain online information by using those gadgets. Despite this brighter side, I believe the unnecessary usage of baseless mobile applications eclipses any merits of such phones.
On the contrary to advantage, the smart has left uncurableincurable mindstate of youngsters as a result of being addicted to hazardous games, applications, and social media connectivity over phones. Although it is a personal choice on how to make any equipment productive, young people's minds are immature to be decisive in this regard. As an example, a popular mobile game Pubg has recently been banned in numerous countries after research that adolescents are spending 8 to 9 hours on average daily while playing this addictive piece of entertainment. In my opinion, it has tremendously demonstrated drawbacks that are dominant over its merits.
In conclusion, ownership of smartphones at a young age can help in reaching out to the articles and researches easily but possess more dangerous and lethal drawbacks of overconsumption of mobile applications.
