Through my experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages., I camehave come to the point that I see the use of L1 hasas having its pros and cons.

The prospro of using L1 in the classroom is that it might faciliatefacilitate students' learning. Because when students first experience of learning a new language , they need to be enhanced to learning . Furthermore ,Students students may feel free to express themselves when bethey are allowed to use L1 and think that isit is a positive experience for them to learn l2L2 in an effective way .As inIn one of my 3rd grade English classes 3rd grade, one student asked me to explain an exercice exercise about prepisitionprepositions of time ,and place in L1( French) L1 (French). As iI finished my explanation , my student demandedasked to explain to me what Hehe understood using L2 (English).

However
, In Moroccan Englishin Moroccan-English classes, the tutor can rarely use L1 , because the first signed agreement with the administration is 'English teachers are not allowed to use other languages in English classes.' While, when teachers start translating in the class, it might create problems, ,because not all of the languages have the same rules ,So so students begin to becan become confused . So, that the best way to learn a new language is to think in that language; for example, if you want to learn French, think in French. , don'tDon't translate toit into your mother tongue .
