I would choose a place such as Syria where there are a lot of refugees in need of medical assistance. I want to help people, especially people in places where they need more doctors such as the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. There’s a couple of different career choices that I have thought about, each impacted by an aspect of my life: psychologist/therapist/counselor, a traveling doctor, or a pediatrician. The idea of becoming a traveling doctor also came to me at a young age, but I only seriously started to think about it this past school year. For years my family has gone to Helping Hands for Relief and Development programs, and they always show videos of people in third-world countries who are injured, disabled, sick, or simply stuck in refugee camps. I saw those videos and thought, I want to go out there and do something. I seriously started thinking about this career when I watched “The Motorcycle Diaries” in Spanish class, about a young man in medical school and his friend who riderode a motorcycle across South America and helphelped the peasants that they meetmet. Throughout the movie, all I could think was, I'I want to do that.that!'
