The role of a prosecutor in our criminal justice system which, is broken up ininto three parts, the first of which is to investigate crimes. he or sheThe prosecutor will contact the person of suspect, ,the victims, and theany witnesses . whenWhen the investigation is completedcomplete, the prosecutor judge now decidesdetermines whether there is sufficient evidence to bring to the court.the case to trial and if to appear toin court. theThe ultimate task beingis to prove that the suspect committed a crime. theThe main issuesissue raised in the video is that " nearly 95 percent of the prosecutors decidesprosecutors' decisions to prosecute endsend up with the defendant pleading guilty,". meaning no trial and no innocence beinguntil proven until guilty. being whatWhat was interesting is that plea bargains keepskeep the system moving . According to judge Caprice, " the system would collapse if every case made it to trial ,". which is a system that thrives off ofon people just pleading guilty. but people are pleadingPeople usually plead guilty because they are told that if youthey go to trail, they will more than likely will lose and receive a harsher punishmentspunishment. plea bargainPlea bargains can be good tofor people generally facing long prison sentences. prosecutor hasProsecutors have a major role in the cases because they hold the case file, -policeincluding the police reports and evidence; basically, anything that cancould help inthe defense of you. but also prosecutorProsecutors can also try to argue your case without even reading the file, which is horrible and. I don't think there is a solution because it would be impossible for every case to courtgo to trial. thereThere simply is not theenough time or money. Prosecutors wouldn't be able to handle more cases and courts would be filled with cases.
