My name is Twyla Graham and I am a 2nd-year student at New Jersey City University. You may not remember me, but I used to intern alongside Denis Bivins at the Newark Municipal courtCourt when I was a student at Christ The King in Newark, NJ. I remember usour having a conversation then and you said something to me that will always adhere tostay with me. You said, " As a young woman of color, it is important that you make sure that you break those barriers that are pushed against us. We, you can do anything." Being an 18-year-old girl at the time, I did not fully digest the words that you had givenshared with me, but now that I am 20 years old, I'm doing just that. Ever since interning at the courthouse, I've looked up to you. Not only because you were a woman of color "calling the shots" in the courtroom, but because you're a woman who asserts true leadership.
