This study determines the concentration of heavy metals in samples of eye shadows products sold in Riyadh markets. TA total of 21 popular brands used eye shadow products sold in Riyadh market - samples from 3 different types of (cheap, medium and expensive) eye shadow frequently used among females in Saudi Arabia was digested. The content of Pb, Cd and As wereas measured by flame-atomic absorption spectrometry (F-AAS), as whilell as the content of Hg (GT-AAS). The analyses were preceded by microwave-assisted acid digestion of the eye shadows. Results are clear that, the concentration of mercury, arsenic and cadmium elements were close in samples "cheap, medium and expensive" eye shadow, but there are some samples fowhicush isare fairly high in cheap price samples compared with the average and expensive element cadmium, while the component lead concentration is high in expensive eye shadow samples compared to medium and cheap prices. The results indicate that the toxic heavy metals in all the samples were below the US FDA and SFDA permissible limits for cosmetic products, with the exception the mercury content in some eye shadow samples, which was higher than SFDA. There was no significant difference among the eye shadow in price categories.
