Abstract

In this research report we present the analysis of a Peruvian professor’s lectures on mathematical functions given to the freshman university students, in order to characterize the mathematical and didactical knowledge which enable
him the management of the learning of mathematical functions of his students. To do such a characterization, we use the professor’s Didactic- Mathematical Knowledge (DMK), which has been raised considering theoretical and methodological of Onto-Semiotic Approach (OSA). The results show that the professor has a good mathematical skills, but he has difficulties in the didactical-mathematical aspects required to the appropriate teaching of mathematical functions.
