On 20th August 2016, the IEM-Siemens Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) Competition was held at Lecture Theatre 19, Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus from 8:30am untill 3pm. Themed “Future City’, Form 4 science stream students from 16 secondary schools participated. This event also marked the end of the IEM Engineering Week 2016 with the closing ceremony being officiated by the Deputy Minister of MOSTI, Datuk Dr. Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah. By being the main venue sponsor, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Taylor’s University (School of Engineering) with IEM during the 4th eEureca conference in July 2015 was made all the more meaningful.

Happy to share our outgoing EE student, Zain Anjum Maqsood who bagged third position at the 2016 IEEE Malaysia Final Year Project Competition. This competition is open to undergraduate students who just completed or are undertaking their FYP in Malaysian Universities/ Institutions and judged for its novelty by industry and academy judges.

Caseh prizes and plaques will be awarded during a ceremony determined by IEEE-PES Chapter in Oct 2016.

This is the second time an EE student bagginged an award plaque and cash, the first one in Oct 2014.

Many thanks for EE faculty and lab staff for continuous support for this work.
