Henry Clay spoke for the west wantedWest region, wanting better roadroads and canals to transport goodgoods between regionall of the regions. John C. Calhoun had spoke for the South thatregion, and focused on states/rights. Daniel Webster had spokespoken for the northwestNorthwest region, originally opposedopposing the tariff, but eventually changed his view to support it in order to protect industry.
In McCulloch v.Maryland, the outcome protected the second Bank of the United States. The, for the Bank had refused to pay taxes. The Dartmouth collegeCollege v. Woodward thatcase stated to the courtcourt that the charter of Dartmouth College in New Hampshire which waswas to be considered a private contract. It had protectedEach of these cases worked to protect the businesses, and promotes thepromoted capitalism. The last was thecase that I will mention is Gibbons v. Ogden(1824), thatwhere the court again supported the federal power. and emphasized that Onlyonly congress can regulate interstate trade.
